HISTORY: Sedimentary rock formed during the Devonian Period - a chapter of geological history in the Finger Lakes, is the foundation of the soils on which our grapes are grown. The goal with our Devonian Series is to produce wines that are intriguing, fruit forward and approachable. Year in and year out, our Devonian Red, a medium-bodied dry red, is quite delicious and a great value!

ABOUT: Up to and including present day, and without any plans to change, both the Devonian Red and White are kept as non-vintage for simplicity's sake. Anthony Road has always defined the Devonian Series as being separate from their premier line by being the winemaker's choice as to which varietals to blend and in what percentages, in a given year (though the red has always been cabernet franc-dominant). Even though the wines are blends of grapes of the same vintage (and therefore a single-vintage wine) by keeping these wines labeled as NV, it allows Anthony Road to bottle a couple of times per year to keep up with demand.

VINIFICATION: Fermented in stainless steel, with select varietals aged in oak.

TASTING NOTES: The goal is to produce a wine that is intriguing, fruit forward and approachable. Its lighter style and fresh flavor enable it to pair with most food preparations. This medium-bodied red has a pleasant fruit-forward palate that nicely balances the tannin and oak.

FOOD PAIRING: Sirloin, Tuna Steak, Roasted Eggplant, Portabello Mushroom, Roast Poultry.
