VINIFICATION: The 2020 Silvan Riesling is unoaked but for just two weeks in seventh-use French oak. It comes in with four grams of residual sugar, 7.4 of total acidity and 12.5% alcohol.

ABOUT: (Wine Spectator) Another beauty in this brand, this is fresh, crisp and transparent. Don't worry about the wood, which is a non-factor in affecting flavor. It's just a bit of spice for texture and mouthfeel. The rest shows precision, power and good depth. It's a serious and stern dry Riesling with the ability to age. There is nothing fruity here. The balance here might lean a little more to fruit than with the 2019, to be sure, but they are pretty similar and neither is a wine to sip on its own on the porch. They need food. This and its predecessor vintage, not here at this time, make quite the dynamic duo. That they are so reasonably priced just puts the cherry on top. It will be interesting to see how they evolve and who wins in the end.

TASTING NOTES: Aromas of Lime Peel and Wet Slate coupled with Hazelnuts and Bread Dough. Very fresh palate, featuring Acacia, Lemon Pith, Lime Peel White Peach notes laced with a quinine thread on the pleasantly nervy finish. Drink now through 2025. This wine is just off dry, with a distinctive creamy richness and a refreshing finish.

FOOD PAIRING:
