HISTORY: The OG orange wine, Ramato hails from the Friuli region of Italy. While more salmon in color than a typical orange wine due to the pink Pinot Grigio grape skins, this is not a rosé. The juice sees skin contact for days rather than hours.

ABOUT: Norton Ridge Wine Company is best known for producing classic California wines like Merlot and Chardonnay. This side project Ramato has given them an opportunity to explore new and interesting bottlings.

VINIFICATION: Hand harvested from vines grown in Calcareous Soils. The Pinot Grigio receives 48 hours of skin contact in open-top, Stainless Steel fermenters before it’s pressed into Stainless Steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 6 months in tank. It is unfined, & sterile filtered. 640 cases produced.

TASTING NOTES: A delicious Light-Med. bodied, dry Orange wine. Salmon Colored w/ Copper Hints. This Ramato has notes of Pineberry, Cherry and a hint of crushed Lily Flower. This is the perfect gateway orange wine for newcomers to the category (but good for the imbibing veterans, as well!).

FOOD PAIRING: This wine will pair nicely with Spicy Foods, Cured Meats, Rich Fish, Grilled Seafood, Vegetables, and Risottos.
