ABOUT: Onabay Vineyards is a new name on the North Fork of Long Island, but it has a long history. The vineyard, now over 20 years old, is part of a larger, historic farm owned by the Anderson family. Today the property encompasses over 180 acres of fertile fields, meadows, and woods as well as over a mile of bay and creek frontage. It is a wondrous, peaceable land of great horned owls, deer, osprey, herons and shorebirds. Striped bass, bluefish and flounder, clams, scallops and oysters abound in the tidal creeks and the deeper water.

VINIFICATION: Cabernet Franc and Malbec are co-fermented and aged in barrel (this wine is made in a style prevalent in the Loire valley).

TASTING NOTES: This Medium bodied Long Island Cabernet Franc-Malbec blend is all of your Dark-Fruited, Herbaceous dreams come true. A splash of Malbec in the mix adds some body and Purple Fruit notes to the Cabernet Franc's Raspberry, Red Plum, and subtle Violet notes. Time spent aging in barrel creates a solid, structured palate that carries Red and Purple fruit notes into persistent finish marked by full, easy tannins.

FOOD PAIRING: Steak, Burgers, BBQ Brisket, Lamb, Game, Full-Flavored & Earthy dishes; Cheese.
