100% Merlot from the North Fork, Long Island, NY State. Certified Sustainable.

This wine is made from the first 3 Vintages vinified by Red Hook Winery, which were recovered in bottles from the wreckage left by Hurricane Sandy. After recovery, the wine was disgorged from each bottle independently, after which it was blended, and then refilled into the various bottles – after they'd been cleaned, of course! – for sustainable purposes. Because of this, the top label on the bottle is actually covering the original label beneath it. If you so desire, you are welcome to peel it back and take a look through the mists of time at Red Hook Winery's storied past.

TASTING NOTES: Medium bodied. An absolutely gorgeous aged Merlot, with complex aromas of Kirsch, Raspberries, Chocolate, Coffee & Leather. On the palate, the tannins are very well integrated and smooth, with Chocolate, Raspberry, Cherries, & Leather following through on the palate. Long, complex finish.
