100% Pineau d'Aunis from Cher, Loire Valley, France. Sustainable, Low Intervention.

HISTORY: Located on the first slopes of the Cher, our family vineyard covers 13 hectares, in the AOC Touraine and AOC Touraine Chenonceaux appellation area. It is located in the heart of the Loire castles, among the most famous of which are Chenonceau, Chambord and Cheverny.

ABOUT: The soils are composed of Clay-Limestone and Clay with Flint, on a Tufa subsoil, make it possible to reach optimal maturities. They lend themselves to the production of wines that are both supple and fruity, round and full-bodied, with a fine minerality depending on the grape variety.

Our cultural policy incorporates natural grass cover as well as minimal intervention for the vines. We thus aim for a sustainable development of our vineyard, where each decision must preserve the balance between tradition and innovation. In particular, we limit the use of weed killer, we limit soil erosion, encourage the rooting of vine stocks, and preserve the fauna and flora at soil level.

VINIFICATION: Vines are at least 40 yrs old. After manual harvest, the grape bunches are de-stemmed and fermented in vats, after which they are bottled and aged for a period before being sent to the market.

TASTING NOTES: Light bodied, dry Red Wine. Aromas of White Pepper with Small Red Fruits (Raspberry, Wild Strawberry) & Forest Floor. The palate is bright and fresh, with light but present tannins, and notes of Wild Strawberry, Raspberry, Red Currant, Forest Floor, & White Pepper. Med. length finish.
