100% Monastrell from Jumilla, Spain.
This wine has been made using Monastrell grapes from vines that are around 25 and 35 years old on land with a great deal of limestone. It is a young and very fruity wine, ideal for any time of the day.
HISTORY: The winery was founded in 2004 by Rafael Cañizares, a renowned enologist in the area of La Mancha, and Jorge Ordoñez, a well-known importer of Spanish wines. All its vineyards are planted in a vase shape, and therefore agriculture is carried out traditionally with no machinery.
ABOUT: This wine has been made using Monastrell grapes from vines that are around 25 and 35 years old on land with a great deal of limestone. Temperature fluctuations are high - from 10º in the mornings to around 43º at midday.
VINIFICATION: The maceration and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for 15 days and at a temperature below 27º F to preserve all its aromas.
TASTING NOTES: Bright Cherry Red color. Fruit forward aromas of Red Fruit, Blackberries, w/ some Herbaceous notes. The fruit forward palate is driven by notes of Raspberry, Cherry, Currant, w/ balanced acidity providing a backbone.
FOOD PAIRING: Pair this wine with Red Meats, Game, Roasts, Poultry, Rice, Blue Cheese, Cured Cheeses and Mushrooms or Mushroom based dishes.
